A collaborative stencil mural project for UAMA students and families, in Partnership with Groundswell Community Mural Project, The Brooklyn Museum, and the Center for Arts Education, taking place over 3 Saturday workshops
Samantha White, 17, from Brownsville, Brooklyn, said the all-women environment makes a big difference in what gets talked - and written - about. "We had a workshop where we wrote about breasts and the experience of getting our first bra," she said. "That would have never happened if there were boys in the room."
After six weeks of commuting an hour and a half each way from the Bronx to Fulton Street Mall, students in the Cooper-Hewitt Museum's "Design Your Hood" workshop presented their finished design proposals to revitalize the Mall's communal space.
