ANTHONY MUCURIO

Physical Education

2007-08 is Mr. Mucurio’s second year as UAMA’s sole provider of physical education. Mr. Mucurio received Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Physical Education from Ithaca College. During his studies at Ithaca College, Mr. Mucurio taught for a semester in Cyprus, a Greek-cultured island in the heart of the Middle East. Along with studying physical education, Mr. Mucurio also played football in college, and as a graduate student coached football as well. With his knowledge gained at Ithaca of what it takes to build a successful sporting community, Mr. Mucurio is working hard to establish competitive sports teams at UAMA. Currently he is working on an Indoor Track team, the first team awarded to UAMA by the Public School Athletic League, PSAL. UAMA will focus all its attention at being successful at one sport to begin with. This success will hopefully enable a larger athletic program to move forward.
